X12 corresponds to 1.50.24 version of the patch. VDC is now launched as a separate config run by 1.50 patch executable ORION150.EXE. How to Install: - Install or COPY MoO2 to new directory - Install the 1.50 patch (extract it to the root folder of the game overwriting the exsiting files); the patch can be found at: http://moo2mod.com/#download Don't forget to back up your build lists! if you already had run the patch before, otherwise on new extraction of the patch they will be overwritten! - Extract VDC installation to newly created MoO2 directory overwriting the existing files; Note that contents of the VDC folder, which is present in the installation package shouldn't be moved from there to the root folder of the game; that folder should stay in root folder like it is; - Configure ENABLE.CFG which is in the folder named 150 located in the root moo2 folder after installing 1.50 patch by putting: enable VDC-GM3NR60; or enable VDC-GM3NR55; or enable VDC-REG; AND corresponding map: enable MAP5_VDCGM3; or enable MAP5_VDCREG; also make sure to put semicolon at the end of each line. - Configure VDCGM3NR60.CFG or VDCREG.CFG for command line, interface options and ground rules (located in 150/mods/VDC folder of the the installation package); save after you make changes; - Run VDC mod via ORION150.EXE (http://masteroforion2.blogspot.com/2006/05/dosbox-guide.html); There are THREE different settings to run the mod: VDC-GM3NR60 and VDC-GM3NR55 use map GM3 standard multiplayer map (goodmap3 map provides 3 planets in each star system; gas giants and asteroid belts were removed), while VDC-REG uses map generation close to original map.
